{Fifty-Fifty Coffee House}--Small Business Saturday--Colorado Springs Event Photographer

I've been working on this idea for a while now...trying to get it off the ground & running! Essentially I will be highlighting a small local business once a month on my website. The point is to help them get the word out about their new or pre-existing business by advertising through photos. I will also be doing a small one on one interview with the owner to glean as much information as I can about their business & share with you news, events, discounts, deals, perks, etc. that their business has to offer. I started with Fifty-Fifty Coffee House for several reasons. One...they have amazing coffee (no lie) & two, they are under new ownership (who just so happen to be my clients/friends)...the DelGross Family.

We met on a warm Spring Monday morning...Brandon DelGrosso gave me the tour of Switchback & then Fifty-Fifty Coffee House. Callie brought their three girls along & everyone enjoyed steamers on the front patio in the golden sun.

I want to give you a brief run-down of how it all came to be..this charming, yet modern coffee house in the middle of a downtown neighborhood. It began with Switchback Roasters in November of 2010 & yes...they started it all in a tiny run-down garage. Can you believe it? 1yr. later they moved locations to a warehouse & about a year after that to a retail location in Old Colorado City. Finally in November of 2013 Switchback Roasters moved in next door to Fifty-Fifty Coffee House. It was just this past February that the DelGross Family took over Fifty-Fifty Coffee House & now own 60% of it along with Nate Bland, co-owner.

During the process of this recent change...they have been busy brain-storming up some fabulous ideas to involve the community, such as: Education Classes to teach about Home Roasting, Pour-Overs. They also are planning some fun Summer Outdoor Events such as "Latte' Art Throwdown"...which will kick off this summer in May!!!

In addition to these fun events, they stay busy with their many partnerships throughout the city. A few of them include: Josh & John's Ice-Cream (where you can find switchback roasters ice-cream flavor...yum), Pike's Peak Brewing Company (where you can order a Switchback Porter Beer---located in Monument), The Wild Goose Meeting House (where Switchback is the main roaster suppliers for their coffee) just to name a few.

I'm always impressed by my experience when I stop by Fifty-Fifty...from their one of a kind customer service to their artsy-fartsy talented baristas who have amazing foam art skills. (See picture in post for the one they made me). So...if you need a little pick-me-up, don't forget to swing by 330 N Institute St for a one of a kind "50/50" drink. You will NOT be disappointed!!!

Last, but not least...if you are a small business owner or know someone who is that might be interested in getting their name out, please contact me for pricing on a "Small Business Saturday" session. CourtneyKae@msn.com (719)271-6594

Thanks so much for swinging by & let me know what  you think by leaving me some love...
